About Jennifer (she/her)I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) #12100.
I work with clients who are recovering from trauma, depression, grief, relationship issues as well as coping with guilt, shame, and anxiety. My approach is to create a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental environment for my clients where they will feel supported and heard. I have training in several counselling modalities and am especially proficient in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I am a member of EMDR Canada and EMDR International Association and meet with other EMDR mental health professionals monthly. Prior to working in private practice, I was a counsellor in a post-secondary setting where I met with students, dealing with challenges such as perfectionism, anxiety, depression, stress, childhood trauma, the demands of higher education, family, relationships, bullying, among other concerns. I also have an extensive background in immigrant services, supporting newcomers’ transition to their new life in Canada. I love the counselling profession, as it gives me the opportunity to walk with my clients through life’s many challenges and work on solutions that lead to permanent change. If what I have said resonates with you, please go to 'Contact.' I would be honoured to work with you. |

Personal |
I have always enjoyed working directly with people whether it was in the tourism and travel industry or teaching English in Vancouver and abroad. I love to travel, learn languages, and experience new cultures and perspectives on life. I also enjoy dancing, singing, hiking, kayaking as well as mindfulness practices to reduce stress along with spending time on the Sunshine Coast to get away from the fast pace of the city.
